Recently, PFOX[Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays] have recently claimed that they were attacked by some gay activists at an Arlington County Fair, and one of their claims was that a gay activist hit one of their "ex-gay" people. Fair enough that they should be upset about it, right?
...Well, actually, no, because the incident never happened! It was a complete fabrication. The police didn't remember such an incident(despite the fact PFOX said they removed a gay man from the premises), and the organisers said that the only thing that happened was a few raised voices between an "ex-gay" and a female fairgoer.
These lies from PFOX have been spread around on many Religious Right websites eg. CitizenLink. So, what's the odds the Right will recall this story, and apologise to their readers and the gay community?
...about as likely as someone in these "Ex-gay" ministries going totally straight is my guess.

Ex-Gay Watch Scandal: Assault did happen: Police Verify it!!
The statements made in a press release from PFOX about an assult on an ex-gay volunteer from PFOX at the Arlington county fair. Have now been confirmed by the Arlington police department. So shame on Exgaywatch for mocking a victim of a hate crime!!! Shame on BoxTurtleBulletin :Daniel Gonzales for applauding this hate crime and shouting Bravo!!! Shame on Timothy Kincaid for mocking the victim too and shame on Jim Burroway for showing no compassion to the victom of this hate crime. And shame on all those who accused PFOX of lying. You are despicable zealots with no compassion, decency, integrity and no humanity . Shame on Wayne Besen and Truth Wins Out. You added terrible insult to a hate crime comitted against an ex-gay.

Mr. Loewe:
Because you inquired about the alleged incident at the Arlington County Fair, I wanted to let you know that I have now spoken to two officers who are familiar with an incident similar to what has been described.
One officer told me today he was on patrol at the Fair when a woman approached him and told him a man had knocked over pamphlets at the PFOX booth and assaulted another man there.
The officer then spoke to the alleged victim. He did not want to press charges and therefore no written report was filed.
Based on the description the officer was given, he located the suspect at the Fair. Another officer escorted that gentleman off the Fair grounds.

Okay, well, how come they didn't confirm this incident earlier, when Ex-Gay Watch inquired into its truth? And how come the fair officials don't remember such an event happening?

XGW dodn't do that. If a hate crime had occured, they would have been dismayed to have heard so. Just becuase they disagree with your views, doesn't mean they want you to get hurt.
